About The Tyne Bridge  

 Newcastle's most instantly recognisable structure is the Tyne Bridge. It was opened by King George V on 10th October 1928. The bridge was completed on 25 February 1928 and opened on 10 October by King George V and Queen mary.The Tyne Bridge's towers were built and were designd as warehouses with five storeys.however,the inner floors of the warehouses in the bridges toweres were not completed and,as a result,the storage areas were never used.lifts for passengers were built in the towers to provide access to the Quayside although they are no longer in use.

The Tyne Bridge was hit by thunder and lightining  when the storm happend in Newcastle and this image shows you the thunder hitting the bridge.
